Helpline
United Way of Danville Area began operating the United Way Community HelpLine in 2002. The original Community HelpLine served as a link between individuals with life needs such as transportation assistance, food assistance, lodging, etc. and the various agencies, organizations, and programs available to meet those needs. Since it's inception in 2002, the Community HelpLine has grown into the area's first call for help, with over 600 requests made in a one year span.
The United Way Community HelpLine contains information on local, state, and national agencies, organizations, and programs to better assist residents of Vermilion County, Illinois as well as Warren, Fountain, and Vermillion Counties in Indiana. Individuals do not need to be residents of these counties in order to use the Community HelpLine. If you have a friend or family member in these counties or surrounding these counties, the Community HelpLine will provide you with the starting point in your search for resources as national and state wide resources are included in addition to coverage areas for the agencies, organizations, and programs.
The Community HelpLine is available 24/7 to anyone interested in learning and obtaining information at www.unitedwayda.com. If you or someone you know is in need of assistance, you may access the Community HelpLine on-line, email the United Way of Danville Area office, or call us at 217-442-3512 for resources available in our area. If you are interested in having your agency, organization, or program included on the Community HelpLine, please call the office at 217-442-3512 or email us at info@unitedwayda.com.
